She helps her clients separate their emotions from the legal aspects of their situation and expertly advises them of the trade-offs involved in settling issues versus litigating them. She is known for her fair and logical approach to the resolution of family law matters.
Kate understands how stressful divorce can be because it impacts almost every aspect of a family’s life, especially when children are involved. When she first meets with clients, they often feel that their situation is unmanageable and chaotic. By educating her clients about the legal process and their rights, Kate helps them move through the divorce process with clarity. She provides stability for her clients in an uncertain and confusing time in their lives and enables them to look to the future.
Family Law Specialist
Kate Rockas has been certified as a family law specialist by the State Bar of California since 1999. Only a small percentage of practicing family law attorneys in California receives such a certification. In order to be certified as a Family Law Specialist, an attorney must demonstrate a high level of experience in family law, pass a rigorous written examination, fulfill ongoing education requirements and be favorably evaluated by judges and other attorneys familiar with their work.
An active member of the legal community, Kate Rockas has volunteered for the Marin County Superior Court as a panelist for settlement conferences. She was Chair of the Family Law section of the Marin County Bar Association in 2000. She was on the board of directors for Marin County Women Lawyers from 2005 to 2007 and was President of that organization in 2008 and 2009. She has been on the board of directors for the Marin County Bar Association since 2009 and was the editor of the Bar Association’s newsletter, The Marin Lawyer, from 2009 through 2013.
